Blackout at Broadway

What's with the power outage at Broadway Shopping Centre? I've heard all sorts of rumours, none of which I'll repeat without confirmation. The centre's own website has almost nothing to say (see below.) Whatever the answer, it sure is strange that a major facility like this one was without most power for the best part of a weekend.

My husband was in there on Sunday morning. He said he came in and everything looked normal, but when he emerged from Harris Farm a little later, all the escalators were off and the lights were dark. Coles and Bi-Lo still seemed to have power though, presumably their own backup generators for the freezers. He couldn't figure out what the heck was going on though. I'm interested to hear these rumours!

Wasn't the fire a few weeks ago something to do with the power system?
